When I found the cure for dry lips

And then realised I hadn't.

I picked up this lip mask thing in Poundworld and genuinely thought I had found the mother of cures for dry lips. Colder weather mixed with lots of lipstick means that lips suffer more during these months. I love a good old lip scrub and thought that, followed by using this, I'd have baby soft lips.
The mask consists of a gel lip-shaped patch enriched with Vitamin E and a blend of natural oils and extracts including Shea butter, Jojoba and Cranberry.

The patch in the sachet I bought was almost hanging out of the packet and accidentally ripped at the edge when I peeled it off. The instructions advised me to apply the patch to my lips and leave it for 15-20 minutes to soak in. The first thing I noticed was how difficult it was to make the patch stay put, it slid around all over my chops and felt very odd.

I managed to get it to stay in place and reminded myself to not move my head down as it would slide off my chin. I then sat there looking like this, being grateful that I had only spent a quid on it. After 15 minutes of my Mum and Luke asking me what I was doing (even though they knew I obviously couldn't reply) I removed the strange slippy patch off my face and was all ready to bask in my new moiusturised lips....

But I didn't, my lips didn't feel any more moisturised than they would with the use of a run of the mill lip balm that comes with the added bonus of not having to look like an idiot or having the strange sensation of a lubricated, deflated chicken fillet sliding all over my face.

Safe to say I won't be re-purchasing this again because it's not even worth a pound.
