Cheap Makeup Brushes

When you buy something on Amazon and the postage and packaging costs more than actual product, you can't really have high hopes (RIP Cat Watch). I got this 20pc makeup brush set for 99p on Amazon, the postage and packaging was £2.50. The  reason why I got this set was because I'm a skank when it comes to washing brushes, mine are in a desperate need of a scrub but I just can't be bothered.

Anyway, it took about 7 years for these to arrive (2 weeks) and I forgot about them until they landed on my desk at work. I was immediately surprised with the quality. I mean they're not Real Techniques and they're slightly smaller than average but they're not bad at all. I got a bit rough with them and tugged on the bristles to see how many yanks it would take before I was left with bald brushes and nothing came away, I pulled on the handles to see how long it took for them to fall apart and I'm not gonna lie, I was slightly disappointed with how tough these things are.

I'm also impressed with the foundation and blending brushes, there's a good amount of chunk on there to go all out with a smokey eye and although the foundation brush isn't ideal for a human face (more a pixie's) hello contouring brush.

The only laughable brush in the set is the eyeliner brush..seriously, WTF is that?

So, as well as being soft and sturdy this NINETEEN piece brush set and that joke also look pretty on my bureau with the rose gold and wooden detail. I might even go and by another set for when these end up too dirty to use anymore.

Please note: The price has increased to £3.11 since I bought mine, but that's still not bad.

  1. 99p?! That's insane. £3.11 still isn't expensive in the slightest, this set is such a bargain! The eyeliner brush did make me laugh a little though haha.
