RWL Update

It's been just over 8 weeks since I started working out with the Results with Lucy programme and I've noticed some amazing results not just physically but mentally too. I thought it was about time I shared my progress on here as well an answered some questions I've had about the programme too. 

Where am I up to now? 

I've lost almost a stone which is great, I have half a stone to go until I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight. Measurements aren't really how I'm tracking my body changes though as it's more about how I feel about myself and how I fit into my clothes. I am feeling much confident in my skin and much more like my old self, my belly has shed lots of weight and is looking more like an actual stomach than a dead, pale slug. My belly button is still extra stretched and looks a bit like a bum hole without a belly bar in but we can't all be perfect ammiright. More impressively, I can feel actual abs under there, I've had any muscle definition on my tummy before or much strength tbh I deffo do actually have some muscles which makes me chuffed. My arm and upper body strength in general is much better, the weight exercises from the RWB programme as well as the fact I'm lifting up that heavy baby have really helped me get stronger there too. My thighs are the only area that I'm unhappy with, whilst I've dropped two dress sizes my thighs are holding me back, they're the place that are always the last lose weight with me so I'm hoping some more leg exercises and plenty of cardio will help me get them trimmed down so shorts fit me properly again. 

How often do I exercise? 

For the first three weeks I completed a work out a day and usually in the morning but as Freddie has got older he needs more attention so I have to squeeze one in when I can. Now, I work out 2-3 times a week via RWB and try and do at least 100 squats and crunches a day during the soaps or when I'm cleaning bottles so I always feel like I've done something active. 

Do I diet?

I haven't really needed to diet, my appetite is quite small and returned to my normal pretty much as soon as Freddie was born, I'm trying to eat more fruit and veg here and there but I already have a pretty well balanced diet. I'm starting to be more strict with the times that I do eat though and keeping between 11am and 6pm - intermittent fasting is supposed to be really beneficial and will help me stop snacking on chocolate late at night out of boredom. I've found the RWL nutrition pages amazing for meal ideas though, I fell in love with the breakfast Egg Muffin recipe and Luke and I had them every day for ages, there's also some really nice lunch recipes and sweet treats, I've found that the recipes are really affordable too which is always important when you're on a budget. 

What equipment do I need? 

All the equipment is available to by from RWL but I got most of mine from Amazon and Argos - I have a kettle bell, a set of dumbbells, a resistance band and a yoga mat that all cost under £30 in total and are pretty much all I need. The workouts are designed to be completed at home so you don't have to sell your soul and buy an at-home gym to get going. Cats and babies make good weights too!

Going forward

I have built up so much strength and confidence with RWB that I think I'm ready to start challenging myself with a more intense programme. I really want to start toning up and working in this muscle definition that I didn't know I could have and I'm dead proud that I started something and have stuck to it and done something just for me.
