Stroke Association fundraising plan

I thought it would be a good idea to jot down the fundraising plan for the stroke association for the next six months or so. I've really got into fundraising and get a bit out of a buzz of it and of course, having been through it all I want to do as much as I can to ensure that the association can continue to provide their service to other survivors in need. From a more selfish perspective, the constant fundraising is giving me the chance to turn the moment my life was turned upside down into something positive and give my experience a nice legacy rather than be something I look back at in anger...I heard you say, SOOOOOOO SALLY CAN WAIT...

Walk your way marathon challenge - 21st June - 27th June

The walk your way challenge is the opportunity to walk 26.6 miles of a marathon at your own pace in your own timeframe. I decided that our holiday to Beddgelert would be the perfect time to take in this challenge as I reckon I'll walk about 26 miles to and from the ice cream shop each day. I'll be documenting my progress on Instagram and our holiday vlogs and will of course be rallying the whole family into it. I'll track my miles on my Apple watch and set up another go fund me page or edit my Pick n Melt one (whichever is easiest) nearer the time. I'm going to set a target of £200 for this challenge and hopefully meet it! Keep your eyes on my social media accounts around the 21st of June!

Step out for stroke Chester - 6th July

On the 6th July my Mum and I will be walking a mile around Grosvenor Park in the step out for stroke event. Afterwards we'll definitely be taking a little shopping trip in the city and going for a nice lunch. I'll be vlogging this event as well as our day and again hoping to raise around £200 because I do love an ambitious target.

Beauty Hamper Raffle Hamper - August - October

I did a shout out on twitter a couple of months ago asking if any bloggers and brands were willing to donate some beauty and make up bits for a hamper raffle and I got a great response so I'm thinking of holding a two month campaign with the raffle as the prize, the entry fee will be a minimum donation of £2 with a capped amount of entries per person so people can donate a maximum amount of however much they'd like. I'm really hoping that this will be a roaring success so I need to reach out to everyone who said they'd be willing to get involved and get the ball rolling.

If anyone has any other ideas for fundraising or wan to get involved get in touch!

  3. Love the idea of the walking marathon! Such an achievement but the training / pressure involved with running it competitively isn't possible for everyone - this definitely makes it more accessible :)
